Who we are


Ted McCagg has been an advertising creative director for the past 20 years, starting on the more traditional side doing print and TV, and then spending the last 10 years in the digital space, doing online campaigns, web sites, apps, and more recently, lots of social media marketing.

On the side, he's written screenplays, TV pilots, and started a blog of drawings that led to publishing a collection of them a few years ago.

It’s been during these past few years, during stints at big digital ad agencies like R/GA, that he became interested in the idea of doing more with advertising and social media than the short term campaigns that were the norm. So he stepped away from the ad world and focused on creating "social media storytelling" that would pair longer term stories with advertising opportunities as a way to make them profitable.

To test the idea's functionality and feasibility, he wrote and directed a short film, Bloom, then took all the characters and put them online, and,over the course of a few months, had them live lives in various social media platforms, from Facebook and Twitter, to Etsy and Amazon.

It worked. And so, Roshomedia was born.
